Chicago SUP rental hut is located on North Ave Beach, just south of Castaways bar and grill, on the bike path. Look for the big white paddle board in front!
At Diversey Harbor we are located at the south end of the harbor, north of Fullerton. Look for a blue container with a "Stand-up Paddleboarding" sign.
+ WHAT IF THE WEATHER SAYS IT’S GOING TO BE BAD THE DAY OF MY RESERVATION?
This is Chicago, and the weather changes often. If we’re closed we will reach out to reschedule your booking.
+ DO I NEED TO TAKE LESSONS?
Lessons are not required, but recommended for beginners. As with any new sport, it is important to learn the basics and proper techniques. While many days present calm/ easy waters, other days present more challenging conditions. Knowing the right fundamentals will be beneficial in all situations.
+ IS THERE A PLACE TO STORE MY BELONGINGS WHILE I’M ON THE WATER?
Yes, we have lockers for rent for $3 and can store basic items in the hut.
+ HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE THERE PER BOARD?
1 rider per board.
+ WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR CHILDREN?
A lot depends on conditions and ability level, but we have had children as young as 8 out paddling. Chicago SUP will make the final decision regarding if conditions permit younger children.
+ WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT
We accept cash or credit.
+ WHERE SHOULD I PARK?
North Ave Beach does have a pay parking lot. Please note that the hours that this lot is open vary and parking at North Avenue Beach is limited, especially on weekends. If you do drive, and the beach lot is full, you can try the Lincoln Park Zoo parking lot, entrance off of Fullerton, 1 exit North on LSD. Public transportation, biking, or hoofing it is highly recommended!
+ WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Bathing suit, sunscreen, water to stay hydrated, and a smile.
+ WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
Online Reservations: You have purchased a ticket for a SUP session and the value of this session is non-refundable, but does not expire. During peak weekend rental hours 10a-3p, there are no changes allowed within 36hrs and your reservation may be subject to forfeiture of purchase amount if alternative arrangements cannot be made. During all other times, in the event you are unable to make your scheduled time, the value of your credit is still valid. Please email us if you need to reschedule. If you any questions or are unable to come at a later date due to extenuating circumstances, please call us and we will assist you over the phone. + ARE GROUP RESERVATIONS REFUNDABLE?
Group Reservations: Group reservation deposits are non-refundable unless Chicago SUP decides to cancel due to weather concerns. Chicago SUP will make determination of weather conditions the day of your scheduled event and reserves the right to make the final call as to if we launch based on weather. In the event Chicago SUP decides to cancel due to weather, your deposit will be fully refunded.
